Grey Melange Polyester Yarn
Zarafa Textiles is a polyester yarn spinning mill producing grey melange polyester yarn — a combined filament yarn for knitting and weaving mills that need a consistent heather-grey base. The melange (heather) effect is created by combining two filaments during production: we run DTY+FDY or DTY+DTY combinations and set the construction to match your fabric’s requirement.
What is grey melange polyester yarn?
“Melange” (or “heather”) describes the marled, multi-tonal grey look produced by combining filaments rather than dyeing a finished yarn. Because the colour comes from the combination itself, the result is a stable, repeatable heather-grey that runs cleanly on circular and flat knitting machines.
- 100% polyester — not a cotton or viscose blend.
- Combined DTY/FDY (or DTY/DTY) filament, chosen per the fabric sample.
- Grey only — 15 heather-grey shades, from light mist to deep charcoal.
- 70D–150D denier range.

Applications
Grey melange polyester yarn is used by:
- Circular knitting mills — heather-grey single jersey, fleece, and interlock.
- Activewear and sportswear knitters — moisture-managing heather bases.
- Sweater and flat-knit programs — marled grey panels and trims.
- Weaving mills — heather-grey wefts and blended-look fabrics.
Minimum order and supply

Request a sample
The fastest way to evaluate the yarn is a physical shade card. Request a sample or quote with your target denier, shade reference, and quantity, and we will follow up.
Customs note: HS code 5402.33 is provisional for this yarn; a combined/folded construction may instead classify under 5402.62. We confirm the code with the freight forwarder before the first export.
